What version of the software are you running?
Early versions of the 3G software may affect the functionality of your MyoVision equipment. To check the software version.
1. Open the MyoVision software.
2. Go to the "Help" dropdown menu.
3. Click "About."
4. As of May 2011 (and if you have a MyoVision 3G) the top number should read 4,0,2,3.
If you purchased your MyoVision 3G in the last two years, you qualify for free updates to your software. Contact 1-800-969-6961, option 3.
If you have a MyoVision 8000, you want the version number to read 3,0,0,45. That was the last software version for the MyoVision 8000 and runs optimally. You can order that version of the software from our store.
Step-by-Step– Updating your computer
Microsoft sends updates to your computer regularly. The updates are essential for a healthy computer, database, and software function.
You should update your computer regularly. Many times these errors occur because the updates have not been done for some time. Windows sends updates to your computer every second Tuesday of the month. These are important for the continued functionality of your machine and all software programs on it.
1. Go to Control Panel to locate Windows Update.
2. In control panel, change your view so that you can see many smaller icons.
3. Locate program, Windows Update.
Alternatively, you could also search for Windows Update.
4. Click the "Check for Updates" button.
5. Install all Important Updates.
6. Restart your computer.
7. Repeat steps 1 - 6 until there are no more important updates to install.
Depending on how long it’s been since you’ve updated your computer, how fast your computer is, and how strong the internet connection, this process can take anywhere from 2 hours to 2 days.
It is important that after every restart of your computer you check for updates again. Microsoft updates need to be installed in a particular order. Certain updates will not be pushed down until you have done others. Always check after a restart or install of the updates.
Once your computer has been updated, try your scans again.
Check Computer meets system requirements
1. Go to the Start Menu and select "Computer" or "My Computer." (If Computer or My Computer is missing from the Start Menu go to the Desktop and see if the icon is there.)
2. The screen that opens displays some computer information, but not all.
3. Right-click in the white space and select "Properties."
4. You are now in the System Properties. You are looking for information specific to the system.
5. Locate Processor, and RAM information. It may take a moment to locate it but it's there.
6. Cross-reference the information you find with the specifications found on with this article. You will likely not have to worry about the RAM specifically unless you are running the computer with less than 1 GB of RAM. Not meeting minimum requirements, especially RAM requirements, will slow down your software, especially if you have multiple programs running.
7. Is your computer meeting minimum requirements to run the software? If not, upgrade components of it so that the software will function normally or change to a different computer that minimum requirements.
Check to make sure you aren't running any other programs in the background
Verify that when you're running the MyoVision no other programs are running, especially virus scanners, updates, etc. Running other programs can severely dampen performance of a computer especially if the other programs are high-powered programs like MyoVision. Virus scans and updates should be done when you are not expecting patients, like the end of day.
